Pine Street Cleaners was opened in 1963 as Village Plaza Cleaners on Athens Avenue in Redding. It was purchased by Greg and Teresa Adams in 2009 from James and Dorene Fraser. The dry cleaning store continued operating in that location until 2014 when it moved to its current location at the corner of Pine and South Street.
Village Plaza Cleaners was relocated from Athens Avenue to 1909 Pine Street after the building was purchased and restored. The name was then changed at that time as it was no longer in the Village Plaza Shopping Center, it was now on Pine Street!
Same great service and clientele, just a new location. And for convenience we added a valet bag drop box so clothes can be dropped off at any time, day or night.
About the Process
Dry cleaning is a bit of a misnomer in that it isn't a completely dry process. However the chemicals used contain very little water, hence the term "dry". The process itself has been around since ancient times and is a highly skilled craft, part art and part science, with many different methods.. In short, not all dry cleaners are alike, which is one of the reasons you will find such great variations in price.
As a general rule, as with anything else, you tend to get what you pay for. At Pine Street Cleaners we take great pride in making your wardrobe and you look good. It is particularly helpful if you know the source of a stain and can point it out to our staff when you bring your garments in for cleaning. That way, we can choose the very best and most effective cleaning treatments.
